Partnering with Zimkids at work
Make Zimkids your chosen charity
Find out if your company already has a charity they support. If not, why not Zimkids? If they already have one, can they support Zimkids as well? Many companies have sponsored charities – speak to your Finance Team about this.
Give as your earn
Many companies enable staff to personally donate directly to charities through their pay system, and the employee is not taxed on these donations. Ask your HR team about giving to Zimkids.
Promotional events
Put on fun events for your colleagues to raise awareness about the work of Zimkids. Pub quizzes and fun days work well. We are also more than happy to send you promotional flyers. Advertise our website on your intranet too.
Creative sponsorship
Ask your colleagues to sponsor YOU to do something wacky and wonderful for Zimkids. We’ve had many people do this for Zimkids already including… a head teacher sky-diving for Zimkids, raising £500; a local pastor ran the Great North Run and raised £700; someone else has organized 2 jazz concerts raising over £1200 for Zimkids; and a small business funded the production of a CD with all the profits (£1400) going to Zimkids.
One off projects
Ask your colleagues to get involved in a specific project for Zimkids like sending clothes out to Zimkids. In 2007 we sent to Zimbabwe 187 school bags, and in 2008 we sent over 300 wash kits. Perhaps your workplace has their own ideas of what they’d like to do for the children of Zimbabwe? Please also consider fundraising to send the items out as post is very expensive.
Zimkids Events
Invite colleagues to attend UK-based Zimkids events (see ‘News & Events’ for up and coming events).

Invite your workplace to join our monthly newsletter mailing list (email info@zimkids.org)
Volunteer
Find out if anyone is interested in volunteering for Zimkids. There is a small volunteer team in the UK who would love your help, whether that is helping us with promotions, our website, visiting schools and community groups, looking after our donors and much more (email info@zimkids.org)
Become a Shamwari (‘friend’ in the local Zimbabwean language, Shona)
This means becoming a regular giver to the work. Your workplace can donate to Zimkids directly – click the ‘Donate’ button on our home page for more info.
